"Enjoy a light pasta dinner, dessert, coffee, canvas art painting, relaxation music, and more," said Deborah Wertalik, founder of Special Needs Recreation.
The organization recently was nominated for the state Commission on Recreation for Individuals with Disabilities' Ted Kaplan Exemplary Recreation Group award.
Special Angels Recreation – also known as Putting the Pieces Together – was born out of Wertalik's desire to raise money for children with autism, like her grandson, Tyler, who was diagnosed at 4.
It was founded 11 years ago by Wertalik and her daughter – Tyler's mom – Tara Banuls.
The cost is $45 per person. The event starts at 7 p.m.
